The primary role of the scholarship committee is to select chapter scholarship recipients. Applicants are Houston-area students accepted to UA as incoming freshmen and who submitted the UA Application for Scholarships online by the December 15 deadline. Committee members also encourage the support and growth of chapter scholarship endowments through fundraising and chapter activities.
This committee works with, and supports, our local admissions recruiter to help promote The University of Alabama to Houston-area high school students. Our goal is to recruit large numbers of local students to attend Bama.
The networking committee also connects with parents of UA students to help them get more involved with our local alumni association and to help them know what is going on with The University.
The goal of the membership committee is to grow our membership base, since member dues helps fund our chapter scholarships. This committee also updates and maintains our database.
The social committee is dedicated to connecting Bama graduates and fans to foster friendships, support local students at the Capstone, and help grow our local chapter.
Members assist in planning, promoting, and advertising chapter events; capturing moments; and making event attendees feel welcome and included in our organization.
