Scholarship Recipients for 2021-22 Announced

Bama Houston is thrilled to introduce Madelyne Grace Cappadonna as the newest recipient of the four-year renewable Houston, Texas Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship.

Mattie is a senior at Tomball High School where she has been a four-year student athletic trainer for football and baseball. She is the only freshmen trainer at THS to ever work with the baseball team after proving herself as a football trainer.

The Bama Houston Scholarship Committee was impressed with Mattie's academic achievement which included community college credits, as well as her leadership and community service. Mattie plans to major in nursing at Alabama, a career choice solidified during the season of Covid. Members of the committee, as well as other alumni, enjoyed a visit with Mattie and her family in April.

New recipients of a one-year Roberts Engineering Scholarship, as selected by the College of Engineering, include incoming freshmen Hayden Faulk (Bridgeland High School), Andrew Jordan (Cy-Fair High School), and Jonathan Wright (Saint Thomas High School), and current student Mariyah Thomas. In addition, Sophia Solis continues next year as the recipient of the Houston Strong Alumni Scholarship.
