The Selection Process

In early March, the Bama Houston Scholarship Committee asks each admitted student for confirmation, via email (at students' personal and My Bama email accounts), of a continuing desire to enroll at UA. You must respond to this email to be considered for a scholarship. The committee then reviews these students’ applications based on criteria set for each scholarship. Details are below. Number of recipients and award amounts vary based on projected endowment income.

For 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, Bama Houston awarded more than $38,000 to Houston-area students. For the 2021-2022 academic year, our Houston alumni chapter is awarding 11 outstanding local students with scholarship awards totaling $29,000.
